Stem Cell Therapy

Stem cell therapy uses cells extracted from your pet’s body to dispose of damaged cells, replacing them with new ones. This treatment is used to combat a number of issues, injuries and diseases.

After our doctors collect adipose (fat) tissue from pets, our trained technicians process the stem cells in our on-site lab to increase viability and success rate. Then they will be injected into the pet’s affected sites by the doctors. In a randomized, double-blinded multicenter clinical trial, dogs with chronic osteoarthritis were either treated with stem cells isolated from fat (adipose) tissue or with placebo. The stem cell-treated dogs’ lameness, the range of motion, pain on manipulation, as well as their overall orthopaedic examination scores significantly improved over time and improved relative to placebo-treated animals (ref: Veterinary Therapeutics, Vol. 8, No. 4, Winter 2007). Many have found that stem cell therapy may be optimized with the use of Canine Rehabilitation after stem cell treatment.
