Nancy, Hospital Administrator
Nancy is a native of Long Island, New York, and has been with Central Animal Hospital since June 1, 1998. During high school and junior college, she worked in a human orthopedic surgeon's office for 4 years. After that experience, she worked in the corporate business arena for 16 years in the manufacturing and human healthcare fields.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in business management from Eckerd College in May 2000. Nancy admits, "Although I enjoyed and learned a great deal from my corporate business experiences, I prefer the small business atmosphere and utilizing corporate structure and organizational principles on a smaller scale."

An animal lover all her life, she enjoys her two dogs and two cats she was never allowed to have as a child. Nancy's spends most of her spare time with her family, singing in church and traveling around the state on the youth club soccer and swim club "circuits."

Carolyn, CVT
Carolyn, CVT
Carolyn is a native of Short Hills, New Jersey, and moved to Florida with her family in 1985. She graduated Eckerd College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, and after a summer of volunteering at Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, started working as a kennel attendant and assistant in St. Petersburg. In 1993, she graduated St. Petersburg College with an Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Carolyn joined the team at Central animal Hospital in November 2004 and is excited to be back working as a certified veterinary technician after a 2-1/2 year hiatus. She is looking forward to "expanding and improving" her career by obtaining a specialty certification in veterinary anesthesia. Her favorite areas in the veterinary field are radiology and surgery. She has a two-year old cat, Aeryn Athena, rescued after surviving a dog attack at three weeks of age. In her spare time, Carolyn likes to watch movies, read, cook, go on long bike rides and "indulge in far too many sewing and craft projects than I have time for."

Sharon, Animal Care Coordinator
Sharon Campbell, Animal Care Coordinator
Sharon moved to Florida with her husband, Jim, in 1989 from Shamong, New Jersey. They have two adult children, a son, Sean, who resides in Largo, FL, and has his own lawn business, and a daughter, Stephanie, who graduated from Smith College and decided to stay in Northampton, MA. Jim owns a lawn service and Sharon has worked at Central Animal Hospital since 1990 and for 24 year at Bryan Animal Hospital in Mount Holly, NJ prior to that time. Opie, their little Bishon Frise, shares their home and their hearts!

Holly, Hospital Assistant
Holly was born in Puerto Rico, but has been a Florida native most of her life. She started with Central Animal Hospital in September of 2003 as an animal caregiver in our kennel and is also currently working as a hospital assistant. She is majoring in biology at St. Petersburg College and is working towards her degree in Veterinary Technology. She loves working at Central Animal Hospital and says that her real life experiences have greatly benefited her studies. Her hobbies include: going to the beach, boating and fishing.

Steve, CVT
SteveSteve was born and raised in Framingham, Massachusetts. He moved to Florida in 1992 and worked in various professions while helping to care for his ailing father. In 2003 he was rescued from a house fire by his two dogs, Lily, a greyhound, and Outlaw, a Dalmatian. Shortly after that experience, he enrolled in classes at St. Petersburg College, and graduated December 2005 with both an Associate in Arts degree and an Associate in Science in Veterinary Technology. In his spare time, he likes to read, play with his four dogs, Max & Lily (greyhounds), Outlaw (his rebellious Dalmatian), and his newest addition, Munster, a pit bull. He also likes to volunteer with a local Greyhound adoption group.

Sarah, Technician
Sarah Sarah is originally from Michigan and moved to Florida six years ago. Having always shown a love for working with animals, she became a veterinary technician four years ago, and has been working at Central Animal Hospital since May 2007. Sarah lives in St. Petersburg with a varied menagerie of pets including Pico, the temperamental African Grey; Holly, a chubby grey and white mouse; an energetic Vizsla named Penny; and Tucker, the Yellow Lab who is secretly her favorite. When not spending time with dogs, Sarah enjoys kayaking, trips to the beach and Danielle Steele novels.

Kristin, Animal Care Coordinator
KristinKristin is an Animal Care Coordinator at our front desk at Central Animal Hospital. She grew up in McMurray, Pennsylvania, 15 miles south of Pittsburgh. She graduated from high school in McMurray then attended college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and studied Art Studio and Liberal Studies. She worked at Canine Country Club, as a kennel assistant before moving to Florida.

She relocated to Tampa in 2003, and moved to St. Petersburg in 2004 and worked at Carrolwood Community Animal Hospital in Tampa for 3 1/2 years. After tiring of the roundtrip daily commute over Howard Franklin Bridge, she started working at Central Animal Hospital in St. Petersburg in July of 2006.

She lives with her boyfriend, Ben, whom she met in college, her dog, Cinta, a rottweiler, and her parakeet named Bling. Kristin loves going to the beach, listening to music, camping, swimming, traveling, eating, and going to the movies. She enjoys the field of veterinary medicine because she loves being around animals everyday, meeting new pets and their owners and helping to make them feel comfortable while they wait to see the doctor.

Jessica, Groomer
JessicaCentral Animal Hospital has been very fortunate to have had Jessica grooming clients' pets since November 2006. She is a native of Warren, Rhode Island and lived there until the age of 22, after which she followed her parents and relocated to Florida.

Grooming seems to "be in her blood," having watched and learned from her mother who groomed when Jessica was young. Her affection and care for animals deepened as she developed her professional grooming techniques while working in her family's grooming business for 3 years in Bradenton, Florida. After meeting her husband, Al, she relocated to St. Petersburg, where she studied under a Master Groomer. She continues to hone her skills, with specific focus on precision scissoring and styling, by attending grooming seminars around the country. This allows her to stay up-to-date on the latest pet styles and keeps her busy when she's not caring for her nine year old son, Mason.

Active in both PTA and SAC at her son's school, as well as serving as a board member for her Neighborhood Association, Jessica also finds time to volunteer at the Humane Society where she loves to give needy dogs cute "clips" to help get them placed in new homes. After grooming for nine years, Jessica believes she is lucky to have found her passion! Her philosophy is that "building a trusting relationship with the client and their pet makes for a more enjoyable experience overall".
