Carolyn,
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
Carolyn
is a native of Short Hills, New Jersey, and moved to Florida
with her family in 1985. She graduated Eckerd College in 1989
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, and after a summer
of volunteering at Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, started working
as a kennel attendant and assistant in St. Petersburg. In 1993,
she graduated St. Petersburg College with an Associate of Science
degree in Veterinary Technology. Carolyn joined the team at Central
animal Hospital in November 2004 and is excited to be back working
as a certified veterinary technician after a 2-1/2 year hiatus.
She is looking forward to "expanding and improving" her career
by obtaining a specialty certification in veterinary anesthesia.
Her favorite areas in the veterinary field are radiology and
surgery. She has a two-year old cat, Aeryn Athena, rescued after
surviving a dog attack at three weeks of age. In her spare time,
Carolyn likes to watch movies, read, cook, go on long bike rides
and "indulge in far too many sewing and craft projects than I
have time for."

Kristin, Receptionist/Animal Care Coordinator
Kristin
is an Animal Care Coordinator at our front desk at Central Animal
Hospital. She grew up in McMurray, Pennsylvania, 15 miles south
of Pittsburgh. She graduated from high school in McMurray then
attended college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and studied

Club, as a kennel assistant before moving to Florida.
She relocated to Tampa in 2003, and moved to St. Petersburg in
2004 and worked at Carrolwood Community Animal Hospital in Tampa

over Howard Franklin Bridge, she started working at Central Animal

She lives with her boyfriend, Ben, whom she met in college, her
dog, Cinta, a rottweiler, and her parakeet named Bling. Kristin
loves going to the beach, listening to music, camping, swimming,
traveling, eating, and going to the movies. She enjoys the field

Sara, Receptionist/Animal Care Coordinator
Sara
McConnell joined Central Animal Hospital’s staff in
July 2008 as a Receptionist/Animal Care Coordinator. She
is a graduate of Butler University with a degree in Biology.

they share their home with two kitties, Pringles and three-legged
Weeble, a newt named Stanley, and three fish. They relocated
to Florida in May 2008 because they both love the ocean and
beach and “were sick of the nasty grey winters of the
Midwest.” Now she loves having the windows open in
the middle of winter! In her spare time, Sara spends a lot
of time at the beach, walking and collecting shells. She
and Travis are also certified SCUBA divers, and they love

Jessica, Groomer
Jessica
joined Central Animal in November 2006 as Groomer, and then resigned
in July 2008 to relocate with her family to Jamaica. When those
plans unexpectedly fell through, we at Central Animal Hospital
welcomed her back in September 2008. Jessica is married to Al
and has one son, Mason, who is 11 years old. She grew up in Warren,
Rhode Island, but she and her family moved to Florida in 1992
because they love being by the ocean and got tired of the cold
winters up north. Jessica and her family share their home with
a Bichon Frise named Mully. Jessica is also interested in one
day owning pygmy goats. In her spare time, Jessica stays busy
as a board member and newsletter editor of her neighborhood association
as well as volunteering at her son’s school
PTA. She also enjoys boating, the beach, going to movies, watching
and playing baseball with her Al and Mason, as well as spending
time with her girlfriends. A highly skilled groomer who goes
