Services
Central Animal Hospital is your full service neighborhood animal hospital that provides a wide range of medical, diagnostic and ancillary animal care services.

* Stem Cell Therapy: Dr. Brown and Dr. Faber are certified to collect and administer regenerative stem cells to dogs and cats for osteoarthritis. Click here for more information

* Orthopedic Surgery: Our doctors also perform general orthopedic surgery including fracture repair, spinal surgery, stifle repair (knee surgery), etc.

* TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement) surgery: The newest surgical repair of ruptured cranial cruciate ligament. This procedure neutralizes cranial tibial forces which leaves the patient sound and walking shortly after surgery with very little pain.

* Tampa Bay K-9 Rehabilitation Center: Now offering rehabilitation services to restore injured, post-surgical and debilitated dogs to healthier, more active lifestyles. We offer hydrotheraphy, cold laser, massage therapy, neuromuscular electrostimulation and land exercise therapy & mobility training. Click here to learn more.

* General Surgery: Our doctors perform full soft tissue, reconstructive, obstetrical and general surgery.

* Radiosurgery: A procedure that is similar to laser surgery, only better, especially for feline declaws.

* Laparoscopic SurgeryLaparoscopic Surgery: This non-invasive surgery has been available in human medicine for many years. Laparoscopy is surgery that is performed with instruments inside the abdominal cavity through small incisions. The procedure is visualized on a monitor. Recovery and pain control is significantly better than with traditional abdominal surgery. Dr. Brown has received additional training and has a special interest in laparoscopic procedures including ovariectomy, ovariohysterectomy, biopsy of the kidneys, pancreas, liver and intestine, gastropexy, cystopexy and other procedures where rigid endoscopy can be used.

* Radiographs: We offer both dental and general full body radiographs.

* Ultrasound/Telemedicine: Our ultrasound unit utilizes color doppler and pulse wave doppler, which are forms of ultrasound that allows for visualization of bloodflow through the heart and vessels. Once the images are captured on site, they are immediately forwarded via the internet to any veterinary school or specialist anywhere in the world for review. Interpretation and results are electronically transmitted back to our hospital within one day. Consequently, our clients now have the convenience of having ultrasound imaging, diagnostic review and determination of long- or short-term treatment options performed in one location without having to leave town or schedule additional appointments with a specialist elsewhere.

* Dental/periodonal cleaning & extractions: Our certified veterinary dental technicians can perform full dental prophylactic (comprehensive preventive cleaning) treatments, and our doctors can perform root canals, crowns, restorations when necessary. We place a high level of emphasis on dental treatment and periodontal disease prevention as research has shown that proper oral health plays a primary role in the prevention of many life threatening diseases in dogs and cats.

* On-site laboratory: Central Animal Hospital houses an on-site lab that allows us to test full serum chemistry panels and complete blood counts with differentials. We offer cytologic preparation and evaluation of many tissues and fluids, as well as complete urinalysis evaluation.

* Pharmacy: Central Animal Hospital houses an on-site pharmacy to allow our clients to pick up necessary medications without having to make a second trip to the local drug store to fill prescriptions.

* On-line pharmacy: Central Animal Hospital now offers an on-line pharmacy which allows our clients to order prescription medications for home delivery. The difference between purchasing precription drugs on our website and purchasing medications on internet pharmacies is that we only sell valid, unaltered products along with a full manufacturer warrranty. This is something that cannot be guaranteed by non-veterinary websites.

* Preventive health care: We offer preventive health care at all stages of your pet's development, from puppy or kitten wellness to senior wellness.
