Pets & Allergies

Respiratory disease and inhalant allergies are almost always treated with medication to control aggravating symptoms such as rubbing the muzzle, chewing and licking, scratching, sneezing, and other signs caused by irritants in the environment. Over the years I began to ask myself if there was a way that I could clean the indoor air my patients and their owners were breathing in their homes, cars, and offices so I could reduce or even stop the use of many of the medications my clients were forced to use on their pets to control these symptoms. Since allergies can not be cured, it can be quite frustrating to know that one is not treating the problem with these medications but simply treating the symptoms. Since corticosteroids are generally the primary drug used to make asthmatic and allergic pets comfortable, doesn't it make sense to try to find alternatives rather than giving cortisone for the rest of the pets life?

I knew that traditional air filters were ineffective due to the fact that particles could pass through them and the amount of actual air that is filtered is only a small percent of the total air in a home or room. More importantly I knew they were ineffective because I have unsuccessfully used them and they were just noisy failures. In Florida it is a well known fact that central air conditioner duct work systems are filled with allergy-causing mold spores and dust mites that are continuously being blown throughout our living environment. I wondered if there was anything out there that could get rid of all these potential allergens.

After several years of looking, I finally found a company that uses the same technology found on the NASA spacecraft air scrubbers--a technology called Radiant Catalytic Ionization. This technology actually creates superoxides and peroxide molecules and gives them a negative or positive charge (ionization) so when they are dispersed into the air they will attach to opposite-charged particulate matter in the home environment. If the particle is a bacteria, mold, or yeast it is killed within 24 hours as proven by studies at Kansas State University. These particles are created in a small attractive fan forced air modification system called Living Air. In conjunction with an easily installed central air duct RCI unit called DUCTWORX they act in concert to "scrub" the air in our homes just like in the space lab.

Technology that offers a common sense approach to a common pet and human problem. To learn more, follow this link:
